Community College Transfer Scholarships
Community College Transfer Scholarships are awarded to domestic students transferring from a community college and entering in the fall semester. Students who previously attended WMU as a degree-seeking student are not eligible.
Transfer students interested in Aviation Flight Science must complete their admission application by February 15. Learn more on the Competitive Admission Programs website.
Merit scholarship opportunities
April 1 is the application deadline to be considered for WMU’s transfer merit scholarships based on the materials in your application file† (at the time of application). For applicants who submit their admissions application after April 1, students will be considered for admissions merit scholarships as long as funds are available.
Bronco Trailblazer Scholarship
- GPA at the time of admission: 3.50 and above
- Awards range from $2,000 to $3,000 total for two years
Bronco Achievement Scholarship
- GPA at the time of admission: 3.00 to 3.49
- Awards range from $250 to $1,250 total for two years

Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Scholarship
Award amount
- $10,000 ($5,000/year for two years)
Consideration criteria
- 3.75+ GPA* at the time of admission.
- 24+ completed credit hours.
- Inducted Phi Theta Kappa Member (PTK designation on official transcript).
- Complete admission application file† due by April 1.
- No additional scholarship application is required for consideration.
This scholarship is highly competitive and selective, and not all students who meet the consideration criteria will be awarded. Please note that when a GPA and credit hour requirement are listed under each scholarship, they are the minimum criteria for consideration.
*Scholarships are awarded based on GPA as calculated by the Office of Admissions at the time of admission. Students awarded more than one Office of Admissions scholarship will be awarded the scholarship of the highest value. Awards are subject to change.
†Application requirements depend on the number of transferable credit hours earned:
- 24 or more hours: Official college transcripts from each institution attended.
- 23 or fewer hours: Official college transcripts from each institution attended and official high school transcript from graduating high school or GED score.
