The Office of Legislative Affairs works on behalf of Western Michigan University to strengthen relationships with state, federal, and local policy makers.
Primary Goals
- Ensure that the University receives an equitable portion of the state’s higher education operating and capital budgets each year.
- Augment the University’s research agenda through increased visibility and stronger relationships with the Michigan Congressional delegation and federal agencies.
- Further the University’s commitment to instituting best practices in higher education by advancing innovative policy initiatives at both the state and federal level.
