Other Funding Opportunities
This fund supports graduate students in ELRT who demonstrate a commitment to fostering global engagement and cultural awareness in U.S. higher education.
The purpose of this fund is to support ELRT graduate students’ travel to meetings or events sponsored by professional organizations to report the results of research, exhibit or perform creative works, or otherwise disseminate the results of their scholarly activity. This fund does not cover conference attendance for other purposes. See additional guidelines.
The purpose of this fund is to support ELRT graduate students actively engaged in independent scholarly research, scientific inquiry, inventive technology, and artistic/creative activity. The research fund supports student needs for active data collection, data synthesis, data handling, data cleaning, and data analysis.
The Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology hires graduate students (typically doctoral students), as needed, to assist faculty with research and program development. In addition, usually one graduate teaching assistant position is available to teach certain undergraduate educational technology courses. Students applying for any of these positions typically must have familiarity with the educational systems and organizations that our programs prepare students to work in. Awards are made in early spring for the following fall semester.
Eligibility criteria
- Must be a student in the Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology
- Must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must be able to work the required 20 hours of service per week for a full time award
Application deadline: February 15
Up to $250 from CEHD towards travel for presentation at conferences or exhibitions, this includes posters. Proof that the paper, project, or posted was selected by conference is required. Funds will only be awarded after seeking department, Graduate College, and WMU funding sources. Proof that these sources have been exhausted is required. Funds are awarded one time for one trip and applied for prior to trip
The purpose of this grant is to help graduate students attend an academic conference in which they are not presenting. The funds can be used to pay for up to $1000 of the costs associated with attending a conference, including registration fees, lodging, transportation and meals.
The Graduate Student Travel Grants are established to support graduate students engaged in independent scholarly research, scientific inquiry, inventive technology, and artistic/creative activity. The grants support graduate students to travel in-person to meetings or events sponsored by professional organizations for the purpose of sharing the results of their research, exhibiting or performing creative works, or otherwise disseminating the results of their scholarly activity. These grants do not cover conference attendance for other purposes (e.g. as a non-presenting attendee or workshop participant).
