WMU offices closed for Thanksgiving holiday

KALAMAZOO--Nearly all offices at Western Michigan University will be closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 27-30, in observance of the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday.

Thanksgiving recess for WMU students begins at noon Wednesday, Nov. 26. There are no classes Wednesday afternoon or evening. Classes resume at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1. University offices will operate on normal schedules, typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26, and Monday, Dec. 1.

Public events

Only three public events are scheduled on WMU's main campus during the holiday break. The women's basketball team will play host to the University of Missouri-Kansas City at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, in University Arena. The hockey team will play a pair of matches against Colgate University in Lawson Ice Arena Friday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. Visit the Events Calendar in WMU News for more public events information.

Holiday hours for selected WMU facilities

Bernhard Center computer lab will be open until midnight Wednesday, Nov. 26, and closed Thanksgiving Day. It will reopen from 8 a.m. to midnight Friday through Sunday, Nov. 28-30. All other offices, businesses and food services in the Bernhard Center will close by 5 p.m. Wednesday and remain closed through Sunday. Little Caesar's, MacDonald's and Subway will reopen Sunday by 4 p.m. All other areas in the Bernhard Center will reopen on their regular schedules Monday, Dec. 1. Sindecuse Health Center will be closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 27-30. Emergencies during the holiday should be referred to local hospitals and other immediate care facilities. Visit Sindecuse Health Center on the Web at <www.wmich.edu/shc> for more information.

Student Recreation Center will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, and remain closed Thursday and Friday. It will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29-30. Waldo Library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26. The main library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28-29, and from noon to midnight Sunday, Nov. 30. Visit University Libraries on the Web at <www.wmich.edu/library> for more information.

West Hills Athletic Club will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Thanksgiving Day, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29-30.
