Joseph Schuetz

Mr. Joseph Schuetz works with honors students in the Haworth College of Business (HCOB) and the College of Aviation (CoA), he is also a WMU military ally.

Mr. Schuetz is an honors advisor and longtime WMU Bronco. He earned a bachelor’s degree with double majors in anthropology and comparative religion in 2010; an MA in spirituality, culture and health in 2018; and is currently working toward a PhD in sociology. He has served as an instructor of record and graduate teaching assistant in both the Department of Comparative Religion and the Department of Sociology. And if you take the “Religions of the World” course, he may have also co-authored your textbook!

Mr. Schuetz’ academic interests center on interdisciplinary approaches to spirituality and health. His most recent work has focused on embodiment, scientific representation, and inventories measuring religious experience. In his free time, Mr. Schuetz enjoys playing guitar, studying foreign languages, and spending time with his three amazing children. He is also an avid walker, and you will probably see him walking around campus at some point during the year. His favorite dinosaur in the dinosaur park is the stegosaurus - a favorite since childhood.
