KALAMAZOO--Text a donation to the Greater Kalamazoo United Way from noon to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, and enter a chance to win lunch with Super Bowl champion and Western Michigan University alumnus Greg Jennings.

Text a $5 donation to 864833, enter the key word GIVEGKUW and confirm the message. For a reminder to text for the raffle, text 864833 now and enter the key word JOINGKUW to receive a reminder text.

Donations will benefit GKUW and will be charged to a participant's cellular phone bill. For those who do not want the charges put on their phone bill, such as those with University-issued phones, donations also may be made online during that time at www.gkuw.org during those hours for a chance to enter the raffle. Participants must be over 18 years old to win and may enter multiple times.

The raffle is being held in conjunction with the Broncos' home hockey game against Michigan State University that night at 7:05 p.m., and the winner will be announced during the second home game against MSU at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The raffle winner and up to two guests will attend a lunch with Jennings at a Kalamazoo location after the end of the Green Bay Packer football season April 28. A native and resident of Kalamazoo, Jennings was drafted by Green Bay in 2006.

United Way campaign wrap-up

With only less than a week of fundraising left in this year's campus United Way campaign, WMU is about 14 percent shy of its $300,000 goal. The drive continues through Friday, Nov. 11, and the campaign so far has collected more than $258,500.

Campaign results will be announced at a free and open event at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, in Room 210 of the Bernhard Center. President John M. Dunn will acknowledge campaign organizers and contributors, and light refreshments will be served. Also scheduled to speak is Ron Kitchens, chief executive officer of Southwest Michigan First.

For information on making a gift, contact wmu-united-way@wmich.edu. Contributions can be made as one-time donations by cash, check or credit card, or as pledges, payable by payroll deduction, credit card or direct billing from United Way.
