
Men's basketball team gains tourney home game

KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University's men's basketball
team (16-12 overall, 9-8 MAC) clinched a home game in the upcoming
Mid-American Conference Tournament with a 71-52 road victory
against Eastern Michigan (6-22, 2-15 MAC) Wednesday evening,
Feb. 27.
The Broncos will host a first round tourney game for the first
time since 1997-98 on Monday, March 4, at 7 p.m. in University
Arena. WMU's opponent and final seeding will be determined on
Saturday, the last day of the regular season.
At Eastern Michigan, Junior guard Robby Collum led all scorers
with 23 points, one of four WMU players in double figures. Classmate
Terrance Slater chipped in 13 points and five rebounds and sophomore
Reggie Berry added 10 points of his own. The only starter not
to reach double figures, Anthony Kann, tied for the team lead
with eight rebounds.
