Gold Co. sneak preview concert is Nov. 2Oct. 17, 2000 KALAMAZOO -- Gold Company, Western Michigan University's award-winning vocal jazz ensemble, will present its annual Sneak Preview concert on Thursday evening, Nov. 2. WMU's two vocal jazz ensembles Gold Company and GC II will present a preview of this year's exciting new production prepared for their annual "Miller Show" in February. Sneak Preview will begin at 8 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. Tickets are $10 each and are available from the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office, 616 387-2300 or toll-free 800 228-9858. Students and senior citizens will be charged $5. Gold Company maintains an active performance schedule throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. It has been selected several times as "Outstanding Vocal Jazz Ensemble" by the International Association of Jazz Educators. Duane Davis, a faculty member at Grand Rapids Community College, is directing Gold Company for the current year in place of Stephen Zegree, who is on sabbatical leave. Davis is director of vocal music at Grand Rapids Community College, where he also leads that institution's vocal jazz ensemble, Shades of Blue.
