Opera students perform act two of 'Die Fledermaus'

KALAMAZOO—Western Michigan University’s School of Music is holding an opera workshop at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, and 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. Tickets are $12 general admission, $10 for seniors and $5 for students, and are available from Miller Auditorium at millerauditorium.com/som or by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858.

Directed by School of Music alumna Susan B. Anthony and conducted by Professor David Little, opera students will perform the second act of Johann Strauss' "Die Fledermaus." The act depicts a huge party put on by a Russian prince, where the champagne flows, melodies soar and scandal abounds.
