Farmers Feast features free local food and speakers

Farmers Feast Friday, Dec. 2
KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students have organized a free meal and program on promoting locally sourced food.
The Farmers Feast is 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in the Bernhard Center Ballroom, with a menu developed by WMU Catering's Executive Chef Nick Petruska and featuring local produce. The event is open to the public free of charge.
Farmers Feast speakers
- Lee Arboreal, a founding member of the Eater's Guild Farm in Bangor, Mich., voted farm of the year by the Michigan Organic Food and Farm Alliance
- Maynard Kaufman, former WMU faculty member and founder of the School of Homesteading
- Heather Kohlburn, co-founder of Elder Fire Farm Arts in Three Rivers, Mich.
- Dennis Wilcox, founder of Blue Dog Greens Farm in Bangor.
