Kalamazoo mayor and 2008 winner Bobby Hopewell will serve as a judge. Other judges are Kathryn Williams, WMU faculty member and musical theatre choreographer, and D. Terry Williams, WMU professor and chair emeritus of theatre.

Terry and Sharon Williams, and dance faculty member Sharon Garber will provide a special dance performance for the evening.

Each celebrity dancer has been paired with a WMU dance student or faculty member as a competition partner. Choreographer Tony Calucci has created a unique ballroom routine for each couple. Calucci has served as a coach for the "Dancing with the Stars" TV show and was a member of the WMU Department of Dance faculty.

Dancing with the WMU/Kazoo Stars is presented by Department of Dance and Partners in Dance, with a goal of raising $15,000 for dance scholarships.
