Events set for students to learn about federal jobsMarch 18, 2011 KALAMAZOO--Two Federal Mix and Mingle networking events have been scheduled for Western Michigan University undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent alumni of the University. 2011 Federal Mix and Mingles
Those interested in attending are asked to preregister for the events. The informal mix and mingle gatherings are free and open to all WMU students and recent alumni, regardless of their major program of study. Attendees will have a chance to interact with various federal employees and ask questions about public service. The events are being sponsored by Career and Student Employment Services as part of Federal Career Week, Monday through Friday, March 21-25. More than 100 people attended last year, and many of those who turned out went on to apply for federal jobs. Representatives from several agencies will be on hand this year to give attendees honest advice about federal government employment. They also will answer questions about how they became interested in a federal career, what their roles involve and how their career paths have progressed. Federal agencies scheduled to participate
