WMU prepares for annual Kalamazoo Holiday Parade

KALAMAZOO--Volunteers are needed to help with final preparations for Western Michigan University's entry in the annual Kalamazoo Holiday Parade 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, in downtown Kalamazoo.

Several willing elves are needed at the Campus Services Building Friday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. to help decorate the WMU float. Popcorn balls and hot chocolate will be provided. Contact Nancy Dyksterhouse at (269) 387-2351 or nancy.dyksterhouse@wmich.edu to volunteer with float decoration.

Kalamazoo Holiday Parade route map.In addition to the main University float, parade entries are planned representing the WMU colleges of Aviation, Education and Human Development, and Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Among the estimated 200 students, alumni, faculty and staff who will be in the parade are mascot Buster Bronco; Homecoming Queen Janine Putnam and King Chris Bellamy; members of the Cheer, Dance, and Gymnastics teams; WMU international students; and representatives of the Campus Activities Board, Western Student Association and other student groups.
