Dance concerts showcase student choreography

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University dance students will perform their original works in seven upcoming Orchesis Dance Concerts Wednesday through Sunday, Nov. 3-7.

Wednesday, Nov. 3

Thursday, Nov. 4, 8 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 5, 8 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 6, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 7, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

 

All performances take place in Dance Studio B on the third floor of WMU's Dalton Center. The show runs approximately one hour and 15 minutes. Tickets are $8 and $5 for students, and may be purchased at the door prior to each performance.

The concert features the choreographic, performance and technical skill of WMU students and includes modern, jazz, improvisation, hip-hop, character and live instrumentation. The show is a starting point for dance students to begin their journey into artistic independence and expression. It is produced entirely by the Orchesis Dance Society, made up of WMU students interested in the art of dance.
