Service credit given for helping with haunted hall

Oct. 19, 2010

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students can earn service credit by helping out with the annual haunted hall charity fundraiser.

This year, the event will be held Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 28-30, in Eldridge-Fox Hall and feature an adult-themed haunted hall over three nights as well as a mini-haunted hall and special activities for kids over two nights.

The event may be chosen as an option for WMU students in classes that require service hours. Volunteers are working from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Fridays and 1 to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 24 to set up the hall. In addition, actors are needed to perform during the nights the haunting and kids activities will be staged, and again to work from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, and 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 6-7, to clean up.

An informational meeting for actors has been scheduled at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19 in Room 208 of the Bernhard Center for students wanting to lend their talents to this year's event.
