Smallmouth concert benefits Loaves and Fishes

KALAMAZOO--Smallmouth, an area folk-rock band, will perform a benefit concert for Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes Sunday, May 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the atrium lobby of the Gilmore Theatre Complex at Western Michigan University.

Smallmouth band members Dennis Martin, Bob Duke, Sandy Duke, Ed Martini, Ann Marie Renaud and Mike Renaud will perform popular standards by Hank Williams, Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, the Byrds and others.

The benefit concert includes a cash bar, light refreshments and a silent auction.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. All services have been donated, and all ticket revenue and proceeds from the auction will go to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes. To purchase tickets in advance, contact Sandy Duke at sandy.duke@wmich.edu or (269) 665-6567.

Founded in 1982 as a collaboration of 20 area churches, Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes is the main charitable source of emergency food assistance for hungry people and families in Kalamazoo County. During 2009, KLF distributed more than 1.1 million pounds of food and served 77,520 county residents, including 32,561 children.
