Sixty school districts sending reps to career fair

April 9, 2010

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's 22nd Annual Education Career Fair will showcase a variety of job opportunities for educators from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, April 12, in the Bernhard Center Ballroom.

Some 60 school districts in Michigan and 15 other states as well as Japan are registered to participate and meet with candidates.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is designed to recruit those seeking employment in K-12 educational systems and those planning to attend graduate school during the 2010-11 academic school year. No pre-registration is required.

Students and others attending the event should be dressed in appropriate interview attire and bring a sufficient supply of resumes to distribute to employers.

Sponsors of the 2010 Education Career Fair include MEEMIC Insurance Co., the WMU Alumni Association and the University's Career and Student Employment Services. WMU organizations volunteering to help out at this year's event include Kappa Delta Pi, Drive Safe Kalamazoo and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

Helpful hints for WMU students to prepare for the event and a complete list of school districts that are participating are available online at wmich.edu/career or from the Career and Student Employment Services office on the first floor of Ellsworth Hall.
