Graduate and faculty research highlighted

KALAMAZOO--Forty-one graduate students and 20 faculty members from Western Michigan University will showcase their scholarly work Friday, April 9, at the Fetzer Center as part of the fourth annual WMU Research and Creative Activities Poster Day.

The free public event includes poster presentations of research from 9 to 11 a.m. in Rooms 1035, 1045 and 1055 of the center. Keynote addresses by two faculty members designated WMU's 2009 Emerging Scholars follow, from 11 a.m. to noon in the Kirsch Auditorium. The speakers are Dr. Michael Grammer, associate professor of geosciences, and Dr. Takashi Yoshida, associate professor of history.

Lunch begins at noon with an awards presentation from 12:45 to 1 p.m. Awards recognizing the outstanding graduate student poster presentations are sponsored by the Graduate Student Advisory Committee and the Office of the Vice President for Research.
