Provost to seek input on Graduate CollegeApril 6, 2010 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University Provost Timothy Greene has announced he will launch a campuswide discussion on the role and structure of the University's Graduate College over the next four to six weeks. Graduate College Dean Lewis Pyenson, whose four-year term as dean is nearing completion, has announced his intention to return to the faculty and teach in the Department of History, effective July 1. Greene thanked Pyenson for his years of service as dean and, in an e-mail to academic leadership on campus, noted that the timing is right for conversations with faculty and university leadership as to what the college's future role and responsibilities should be. "Over the next few weeks, I will be soliciting input from multiple sources on campus," Greene said. Media contact: Cheryl Roland, (269) 387-8400, cheryl.roland@wmich.edu WMU News |
