Public forum Monday addresses state budgetFeb. 17, 2010 KALAMAZOO--Balancing Michigan's budget will be discussed at a public forum Monday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in the Fetzer Center at Western Michigan University. The event is open to the public free of charge. Among those making presentations will be Mitchell "Mitch" Bean, director of the nonpartisan Michigan House Fiscal Agency. Bean serves as advisor to House leadership on matters concerning the state budget. Prior to his appointment as director, Bean was the chief economist for the House and has extensive experience in forecasting Michigan's tax revenue. State Rep. Robert B. Jones of Kalamazoo is hosting the forum, which also will feature remarks by representatives from A Better Michigan Future and other organizations.
