'Vets on Campus' webinar slated

Feb. 11, 2010

KALAMAZOO--A half-day distance-learning webinar titled "Vets on Campus" will be offered free to faculty and staff members from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, on the Texas Township Campus of Kalamazoo Valley Community College, 6767 West O Avenue.

The Advocacy Office for Transfer Students and Military Affairs is partnering with KVCC to offer this six-session, four-hour seminar live.

This event will allow faculty and staff members to learn what is working in veteran's programs so that they can build and strengthen their own programs. Attendees also will gain a better understanding of the unique needs of student service members, veterans and their families.

The webinar will be held in KVCC's main building on the south upper level in Room 5740. The room is located at the far end of the college, so attendees are encouraged to park by the tennis courts and come in the back entrance.

Attendees also are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. Water and dessert will be provided.

To register, contact Tracey Moon in the advocacy office at tracey.moon@wmich.edu or (269) 387-0740. For more information, visit the Vets on Campus Web site or contact Moon.
