WMU closed Monday for MLK Day

KALAMAZOO--Most Western Michigan University offices will be closed, and there will be no classes Monday, Jan. 18, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Many of the offices and services that will be available Monday will be open reduced hours.

Classes resume and all offices resume normal hours Tuesday, Jan. 19.

There are several public events and activities honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King throughout the weekend and Monday.

Listed below are hours for selected University offices and services. Faculty, students and the public are encouraged to call ahead to make sure that a particular office on campus is open. For emergencies only, contact WMU Public Safety at (269) 387-5555.

Bernhard Center and Bronco Mall hours are available on the Bernhard Center Web site. Most building services and mall stores are closed Monday, Jan. 18. Exceptions include Subway, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut, which will be open reduced hours, noon to midnight.

Bernhard Center computer lab will continue normal 24-hour operation Monday, Jan. 18.

University Computer Center lab is closed Monday, Jan. 18.

Sindecuse Health Center and its pharmacy are closed Monday, Jan. 18. When the Sindecuse Health Center is closed, medical emergencies should be referred to local hospitals or other health-care providers.

Student Recreation Center is open reduced hours, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18, and there will be no open swim hours or aerobic classes.

Unified Clinics is closed Monday, Jan. 18.

Waldo Library is open reduced hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18.
