Story of Keats and Brawne at Little Theatre

KALAMAZOO--Kalamazoo Film Society presents "Bright Star," starring Abbie Cornish, Ben Whishaw and Paul Schneider Friday through Sunday, Jan. 8-10, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University.

Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30, 5 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $5 and $3 for students with a valid ID.

An epic romantic drama in the truest sense, "Bright Star" tells the story of two of literature's most compelling and heartbreaking lovers, the poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne. Set in early 19th century England, the movie is exquisitely filmed, acted and directed.

Director Jane Campion was nominated for the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival for her work on "Bright Star." The 2009 film is shown in English and has a run time of 120 minutes. It is rated PG.

Parking and directions

The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Lane on WMU's East Campus. Free off-street parking is available behind the theatre.
