Area debut of 'The Hurt Locker' at Little Theatre

KALAMAZOO--Western Film Society presents six screenings of "The Hurt Locker" Friday through Sunday, Dec. 11-13, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University.

Show times for "The Hurt Locker" are Friday and Saturday at 7 and 9:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 and 5 p.m. General admission is $5 and $3 for students with a valid Bronco ID Card.

Based on real observations from journalist and screenwriter Mark Boal, "The Hurt Locker" is the epic tale of an elite Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal squad attempting to disarm roadside bombs and take down insurgents in the streets of Baghdad. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, the film stars Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie, both recently nominated for Independent Spirit Awards for their performances, as well as Brian Geraghty, Ralph Fiennes, Evangeline Lilly and Guy Pearce.

"The Hurt Locker" is shown in English and Arabic, and has a run time of 131 minutes. The 2008 film is rated R for adult language and violence.

Parking and directions

The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Lane on WMU's East Campus. Free off-street parking is available behind the theatre.
