The deadline to register for the outing is noon Friday, Aug. 1. All registrations must be made online, and participation is limited to the first 72 golfers who register. The event is open to WMU faculty and staff members, retirees, alumni and students, along with their guests.

The golf outing is designed to introduce WMU colleagues to one another and build as well as strengthen personal and professional relationships. It will feature a longest-drive contest for men and women and an awards program with prizes and appetizers.

Inexperienced as well as experienced golfers are encouraged to grab a colleague and participate. As in past years, the outing will have a scramble format and shotgun start. Golfers will play in groups of four and may register as double or single players. They also must bring their own clubs.

The cost for golfers who register by the deadline is $38 per person and includes nine holes of golf with a cart, gratuity, prizes and appetizers.

Volunteers are primarily needed to assist with participant check-in, greet golfers at each hole and judge the longest-drive contest. They will receive free food and a T-shirt.
