Nominations sought for student organization awards

March 5, 2008

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students, faculty and staff are invited to submit nominations by Wednesday, March 12, for the 2007-08 Golden Bronco Awards, which honor WMU's Registered Student Organizations as well as individual RSO members for significant achievements or contributions.

A recognition celebration will be held Friday, April 4, for this year's award winners and finalists and their invited guests. As in past years, the event also will be the stage for announcing which WMU students have been selected for inclusion in the 2008 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

This year, four Golden Bronco Awards have been separated into two categories, one for RSOs with more than 20 members and one for RSOs with 20 or fewer members. Nominations may be submitted in one or both of these categories for: Most Committed to Diversity, Outstanding RSO for Community Involvement, RSO of the Year and Web site of the Year.

In addition, nominations are being accepted for the following overall awards: Advisor of the Year, Best New RSO, 5-Star RSO, Outstanding Student for Community Involvement, Student Agency of the Year and Student Leader of the Year.

Nomination forms are available online at www.salp.wmich.edu and available for pick up in the Student Activities and Leadership Programs office, Room 2420 Faunce Student Services Building.
