One Stop offers convenient service to students

Jan. 1, 2008

KALAMAZOO--A temporary One Stop Convenience Center will be open the first three days of spring classes, Monday through Wednesday, Jan. 7-9, to keep Western Michigan University students and parents from running themselves ragged as they take care of last-minute business associated with the start of a new semester.

The One Stop Convenience Center brings the services of several different campus offices to one location that is convenient to both students and their parents. The operation is housed on the second floor of the WMU Bernhard Center and will remain open between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

"Those visiting One Stop will be able to get Bronco ID cards and parking permits, arrange for campus housing and sign up for meal plans," says WMU Registrar Barbara McKinney. "They can also pick up information on financial aid, employment opportunities, and immunizations and other campus health care services."

The convenience center will be staffed by representatives from several different WMU areas, including the offices of Information Technology, Residence Life, and Student Financial Aid and Scholarships; Accounts Receivable; Bronco ID Card Center; Career and Student Employment Services; Parking Services; Registrar's Office; Sindecuse Health Center; and WMU Dining Services.

Bronco Express, the year-round service center located on the main floor of WMU's Bernhard Center, will remain open to assist students with registration, financial aid and making payments to their student accounts. The WMU Bookstore and Microcomputer Sales will also assist students one floor down from One Stop, on the center's first floor.
