"A Year with Frog and Toad" leaps to Miller stage

Nov. 19, 2007

KALAMAZOO--Fresh off Broadway with three Tony nominations, including Best Musical, "A Year with Frog and Toad" will stop at Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium for one show at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.

"A Year with Frog and Toad" takes characters from Arnold Lobel's popular children's book from the page to the stage. The fun-filled family musical follows two friends, the cheerful Frog and grumpy Toad, through four adventurous seasons together. All the while, the two friends and their lively crew step across the stage to a jazzy score with a country-western thread.

As Frog and Toad experience everything from waking from hibernation in the spring, to sledding across the winter snow, the two learn valuable life lessons. Among the most important is one about friendship and rejoicing in what makes each one of us different.

"A Year with Frog and Toad" at Miller Auditorium is sponsored by Coca-Cola. Tickets are on sale now and range from $10 to $35. They are available by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858, online at millerauditorium.com, or by visiting the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office or the Epic Center Box Office in downtown Kalamazoo. Groups of 20 or more should call (269) 387-2312 for special discounts.
