WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Dorinne L. McKeagAug. 17, 2007 Dorinne L. McKeag, associate professor emeritus and a devoted student counselor at Western Michigan University, died June 14, in Ogallala, Neb. She was 75. McKeag came to WMU in 1962 as an assistant professor in what is now the University Counseling and Testing Center and retired in 1988. She dedicated most of her time at WMU to helping others, and she counseled hundreds of students on a one-to-one basis during her career. An Ogallala native, McKeag earned a bachelor's degree from Ottawa University in 1953 and a master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado (formerly Colorado State College) in 1958. From 1957 to 1962, McKeag was an assistant professor at UNC, where she taught in the university's teacher-training school and supervised student teachers.
