Presidential search is on schedule

Jan. 30, 2007

KALAMAZOO--The search for the next president of Western Michigan University is on schedule and a president could be named by May or June, according to a Jan. 26 report to WMU trustees.

Ken Miller, vice chair of the board, is leading the search advisory committee. He said more than 50 candidates have been identified, and next month the committee will begin narrowing the list with the goal of having three to five candidates on campus in April to make public presentations.

"Assuming 'the candidate' exists in the pool we are currently looking at, we're on track for an appointment in the May-June time frame," Miller said.
