Woods elected to board of World Affairs Council

KALAMAZOO--W. Wilson "Bill" Woods, interim dean of Western Michigan University's Diether H. Haenicke Institute for Global Education, has been elected to a two-year term as board member for the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan. The council hosts programs that further the understanding of global and American foreign policy issues.

Woods has directed operations for WMU's initiatives in the international higher education arena since joining the University in 1986. He previously served as director of international advancement, before being named interim dean of the Haenicke Institute for Global Education in July 2006. Woods, who earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from WMU, is an affiliate assistant professor in the University's Department of History and is a member of the Association of International Educators.
