2006 Air Race Classic 'flight log'

BATTLE CREEK, Mich.--Courtney Hedlund, a WMU flight instructor and December 2004 graduate of Western Michigan University's College of Aviation, shared pilot duties with Leslie Treppa, a December 2005 graduate who is also a flight instructor, in the June 20-23 Air Race Classic, a 2,156-mile women's cross-country event that began in Mesa, Ariz., and ended in Menominee, Mich.

Racers made stops in Santa Teresa, N.M.; Ozona, Texas; Bryan, Texas; Bastrop, La.; Ada, Okla.; Lawrence, Kan.; and Albert Lea, Minn.

June 21, Menominee, Mich--We flew 1,341.2 miles and crossed the finish line on the second day of the Air Race Classic!

June 20, Bryan, Texas--The Air Race started off great in Mesa! We flew to Bryan, where we are spending the night.

June 19, Mesa, Ariz.--The 2006 Air Race Classic kicks-off at 8 a.m. tomorrow, with planes taking off at 30-second intervals.
