Web content management system demonstrated

Feb. 9, 2006

KALAMAZOO--Faculty, staff and students at Western Michigan University are invited to a demonstration of the Web content management system that was included with WMU's new student information system. The demonstration was rescheduled from earlier this month.

Representatives from Sungard Higher Education will demonstrate Luminis CMS from 11:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 15, in Putney Auditorium of the Fetzer Center.

A Web CMS is a systematic means of organizing, optimizing and managing a Web site, allowing those providing content--department chairs, directors, faculty, staff and students--to directly and quickly update Web content with minimal technical skills. With a good, well-managed CMS, updating or adding content to existing Web pages is as simple as completing an online order form.

Questions regarding the demonstration may be referred to Michael VanPutten in Academic Technology and Instructional Services at michael.vanputten@wmich.edu or (269) 387-4218.
