Reginald A. Gammon

Reginald A. Gammon, professor emeritus of art at Western Michigan University, died Nov. 3 in Albuquerque, N.M. He was 84.

The nationally known painter and printmaker taught at WMU for 21 years, retiring in 1991. His works, which focused on people in the context of social justice issues, have been exhibited around the nation. His painting "Laying Out in Philadelphia" was featured in the 2003 Smithsonian Institution calendar.

Gammon studied at the Philadelphia Museum College of Art and the Stella Elkins Tyler School of Fine Art at Temple University.
