WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS Broncos are home for NIT second-round contestMarch 17, 2005 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University and the Bronco men's basketball team will host Texas Christian University at 7 p.m. Monday, March 21, at University Arena in a second-round contest of the National Invitation Tournament. Tickets range from $13 to $17, except for WMU students, and are available through the Athletic Ticket Office at (269) 387-8092 or toll-free (888) 4-WMU-TIX. Season ticket-holders have until 3 p.m. Friday, March 18, to reserve their seats from the regular season. Tickets for WMU students are $5, and must be purchased in person with a valid student ID. The first 500 WMU students will be admitted free, but must obtain a ticket from the Read Fieldhouse ticket office with a valid ID. One free ticket will be issued to the first 500 students appearing in person. Those students may purchase additional tickets at the $5 rate. Ticket office hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. WMU has an overall record of 20-12 and advanced to the second round of the NIT with a 54-40 victory at Marquette Monday night. That game was televised nationally on ESPN. The Horned Frogs of TCU are 20-13 overall and won their first-round NIT contest Wednesday night in Oxford, Ohio, 60-58, over Miami University. The Broncos are 10-2 at home this season and 3-0 against non-conference opponents. Home losses for WMU this season were by six points to Buffalo, Feb. 8, and by one point to Ball State, Jan. 22.
