President unveils results of Michigan business survey

Feb. 20, 2005

KALAMAZOO--The views of more than 1,100 Michigan executives involved in new economy businesses will be outlined by Western Michigan University President Judith I. Bailey when she unveils the findings of a statewide survey during a luncheon address to the Detroit Women's Economic Club Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Bailey will deliver the "New Economy Progress Report" to club members and guests attending the WEC meeting, set for noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Troy Marriott. Following her presentation, a panel will discuss the survey findings. Panelists will include Mary Kramer, editor of Crain's Detroit Business; Daniel Howse, Detroit News business writer; and Teri F. Willey, a founding partner of Arch Development Partners, a prominent Chicago-based venture capital firm specializing in the life sciences.

The survey, completed early this year, was a joint effort of the WMU Research Foundation and EPIC-MRA, a Lansing-based, public-opinion, marketing and research firm.

Information about attending the event is available on the Detroit Women's Economic Club Web site at <www.womenseconomicclub.org>.
