WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS Paper Tech Foundation holds annual meetingOct. 9, 2004 KALAMAZOO--The chief financial officer from one of North America's leading packaging companies will deliver the keynote address at the Oct. 14-15 annual meeting of Western Michigan University's Paper Technology Foundation. Steven C. Voorhees, executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Rock-Tenn Co., will deliver his address during the opening evening's banquet on Thursday, Oct. 14. Rock-Tenn, which operates from more than 70 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Chile, provides marketing and packaging solutions to consumer products companies at low cost and has annual net sales of more than $1.5 billion. Rock-Tenn operates over 1,000,000 tons of recycled paperboard and corrugating medium capacity in the United States. The foundation's annual meeting will also include a reunion of the WMU paper engineering classes of 1954, '64, '74, '84 and '94. The PTF has a long history of providing scholarships to young people who pursue careers in the paper industry. During the meeting, opportunities to meet students and discover their research and career interests will be offered. Students will be available for internship, summer job and post-graduation employment interviews.
