WSA polling locations changed because of weather

March 16, 2004

KALAMAZOO--Cold weather has forced all polling stations to move indoors for this week's elections for Western Student Association president, vice president and student senate.

Western Michigan University students can cast ballots in the main lobby of Sangren Hall, the main lobby of the Bernhard Center (near the candy counter), at the Student Recreation Center turnstiles and Parkview Campus Information Center. Polling places are scheduled to be open from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily through Thursday, March 18.

"WSA is the WMU student government and the voice for every student," says Stacy Smith, chair of the WSA Election Control Board. "We are the liaison [between students and] WMU's administration and city officials. We provide such services as [Student Activities Fee] fund distribution, Pick A Prof, free legal aid and lobbying efforts with local government and the state Legislature."

There are two tickets for WSA president and vice president and several senate seats up for election. More information on the candidates and the election is available on the WSA Web pages at <www.wsa.wmich.edu/election.html>.
