Official delivers 'State of the State' energy reportFeb. 12, 2003 KALAMAZOO -- How well does Michigan shape up when it comes to energy efficiency? An official from the state's energy office will visit the Western Michigan University campus to deliver an annual report on the topic as well as offer ideas for alternative energy resources. John Sarver, director of consumer education programs for the state of Michigan, will present, "The State of the State Energy Report," at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in Room 1728 of Wood Hall. Sarver is responsible for administering federal grants from the U.S. Department of Energy and is responsible for residential, commercial, industrial, solar and wind programs within Michigan. Solar demonstrations and information about the Zero Energy Home Design Competition, Five Star Home grants for builders, and Energy Star homes and products will be included in the talk.
