Trustees meet Friday, April 23

KALAMAZOO--The Western Michigan University Board of Trustees will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, in the Connable Board Room of the Bernhard Center.

Agenda items include recommendations for a complete revision of the Student Code and 1999-2000 room and board rates as well as the identification of WMU's School of Nursing as the legal successor to the Bronson Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. The board also will consider a recommendation to name the WMU School of Nursing.

Trustees also will consider recommendations to: establish an environmental institute; approve a graduate certificate program in human performance technology; authorize name changes for two departments in the College of Education; and approve revised policies and procedures concerning student academic conduct as well as amendments to the Western Student Association constitution.

In addition, the board will hear reports on personnel and on gifts and grants to the University.

The board's Budget and Finance Committee will meet at 8:45 a.m. and its Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m., both in Room 204 in the Bernhard Center. All meetings are open to the public.
