WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Lynne C. McCauleyNov. 12, 1998 Dr. Lynne C. McCauley, director of the Center for Academic Support Programs, died Nov. 6. She was 56. McCauley joined the University as assistant professor of social science in 1978. In 1981, she was named coordinator of the Writing Lab and director of the Intellectual Skills Development Program. She was appointed director of University Curriculum in 1985. Those programs and others are part of the center she directed. As director of the intellectual skills program, McCauley was responsible for developing, maintaining and evaluating student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics. As University Curriculum director, she oversaw budget and staffing for a comprehensive advising and referral program for undeclared students. McCauley earned a bachelor's degree from Immaculata College in Philadelphia in 1963. She went on to earn a master's degree from St. John's University in 1965 and a doctoral degree from New York University in 1977. Memorials may be made to a scholarship fund McCauley's family has established in her memory through the WMU Foundation. WMU News |
