What to expect at the tutoring sessions
These small-group sessions are conducted by tutors who are prepared to answer your questions about course material. They will discuss and clarify assignments, lectures, readings, quizzes, exams and any other study-related questions. Tutors can help decide what information is most important and share course-specific study tips and test-taking strategies.
Why students attend tutoring
Students have used the tutoring services in a variety of ways to:
- Clarify problems. Our tutors can help you with specific questions or general knowledge on a topic. This is a great alternative for you if you do not feel comfortable talking with your professor or if you cannot make it to your professor's office hours.
- Do homework. Many students find that the tutoring sessions provide a great atmosphere for doing homework. If they get stuck on a problem or if questions arise there is easy access to somebody who can help.
- Meet with study groups. Our tutors can help guide your study group meetings to increase productivity.
Tutoring is not just for students falling behind in coursework and helps improve course understanding and earn higher grades.
