The Gibbs House Fellowship is being reimagined. While we develop a new program, the Fellowship will not operate in Fall 2020/Spring 2021. We anticipate accepting new applications during Spring of 2021 for the Fall 2021/Spring 2022 school year.

The Gibbs House Fellowship provides Western Michigan University students with the unique opportunity to engage in a sustainability-focused cooperative living arrangement at Western's historic Gibbs House, located near the University's Parkview Campus. Fellows receive paid student positions at the Office for Sustainability and are integrated into office programs and projects that fit their skills and interests.

The Office for Sustainability encourages any student, regardless of their background, course of study or experience level, to apply to the Gibbs House Fellowship program. Fellows are a diverse group of students who learn from each other's various skills and passions. Each student's unique perspective contributes toward fostering a cooperative community built around sustainable living.
