NSF webinars explore recent efforts to diversify the STEM pipeline

The National Science Foundation recently announced a new webinar exploring recent efforts to diversify the STEM pipeline and increase the population of scientists from underrepresented fields. The webinar will expound upon a recent Dear Colleague Letter that adds on to the Inclusion across the Nation of Communities of Learners of Underrepresented Discoverers in Engineering and Science, or NSF INCLUDES, program. This DCL is intended to engage current NSF awardees working on broadening participation as well as the broader STEM community in the creation and development of the NSF INCLUDES National Network.

The DCL requests three types of proposals, all focused on applying the best approaches, activities and strategies to increasing diversity in STEM. Proposal types include: Early-concept Grants for Exploratory Research (EAGER) proposals; conference proposals; and supplemental funding requests. Funded PIs from any NSF program in any directorate may apply for the supplemental funding track. Applications are due by Nov. 13, 2017, or April 16, 2018.
