The first phase of the Degree Works project is nearing completion and we are excited to introduce it to new students at orientation next month and to returning, undergraduate students in the Fall semester. Degree Works brings WMU degree requirements and a student’s completed coursework together to provide a clear, comprehensive view of a student’s progress toward degree completion. Below is a screen shot of the main Degree Works page.
Access to Degree Works can be obtained by completing a Degree Works security access form located in GoWMU under the Student Systems Security Access Center.
If you would like to learn more about Degree Works and see a demonstration of the system, you are welcome to attend one of the training sessions scheduled for today and tomorrow in 1920 Sangren Hall.

At the end of the Spring 2013 semester, WMU had a total of 554 students receiving VA benefits. Our Veteran student population has increased by 229 students since the Post 9/11 GIBILL started in 2009. It is projected that the number of VA benefit eligible students will continue to increase as a result of U.S. troops starting to pull out of other countries, and with the option of transferring GIBILL benefits to dependents.
Veteran students and dependents eligible to receive VA benefits need to complete a Veteran’s Certification Form each year authorizing WMU to report their enrollment information to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Questions regarding VA benefits or certification should be directed to Brenda Hamlyn in the Registrar’s Office.

Spring 2014 working reports are available in Cognos for departments to review. Working reports do not have to be returned this round, but all edits must be completed in Banner by the end of the day on Friday, May 31. If there are changes that must be made by the Registrar’s Office, the working report is due in the Registrar’s Office by 5 p.m. on 31st. If there are no changes, the report does not need to be returned.
