Commencement

Summer commencement will be held this Saturday in Miller Auditorium. The schedule is as follows: 

9 a.m.

  • Haworth College of Business
  • College of Engineering and Applied Sciences
  • College of Fine Arts
  • College of Health and Human Services

Noon

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Aviation
  • College of Education and Human Development
  • Extended University Programs

Tickets

Graduates who reserved their commencement tickets before June 15 may request up to two additional tickets from June 20 through June 21. Additional tickets will be available while quantities last on a first come, first served basis.

Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on a large screen in Brown Hall, room 2028. Commencement ceremonies will be broadcast live on EduCABLE Channel 5.1 and throughout the Kalamazoo viewing area by Charter Communications on Public Media Network's channel 191. You can also follow our graduates on Twitter using #WMUGrad. 

Grading

Grading for Summer I is open. Grades are due no later than noon on Tuesday, July 3. 

Fact of the week

40 students are planning to participate in commencement on Saturday.  30 of them at noon; the largest number in one ceremony. 

UPCOMING DATES

  • June 23—Commencement ceremonies are held at Miller Auditorium.
  • June 27—Summer I ends.
  • June 28—Summer II begins at 8 a.m.
  • July 3 —Summer I grades are due no later than noon. 
  • July 4—Independence Day - University closed. 
  • July 6—Last day to drop and add; last day to receive 100% refund; census
  • July 7—$100 late add fee begins; begin recording withdraws as "W" on transcripts
  • July 10—Last day to receive 50% refund for a complete withdrawal
  • July 23—Last day to withdraw from classes; last day to receive 25% refund for a complete withdrawal
  • August 17—Semester ends
  • August 21—Final grades are due
  • August 29—Fall 2018 classes begin at 8 a.m. - please note this is the Wednesday before Labor Day
