Commencement tickets

Friday is the last day for April graduates to reserve their four guest tickets. Tickets not reserved by April 20 will be donated to the additional ticket pool and will no longer be available.

Graduates who reserve their tickets before the deadline may request additional tickets from April 24 through April 26. Additional tickets will be available while quantities last on a first come, first served basis. Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on a large screen in Brown Hall, room 2028.

Campus shredding event

Friday is the free campus shredding event hosted by the GLBA committee. Bring your unwanted professional or personal documents, CDs, DVDs, and Floppy Disks to Lot 41 near Sangren Hall between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Data Guardian will be on site to ensure your materials are properly destroyed and recycled.

Finals week

Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26

Final Exam Reminders:

  • Regularly scheduled class meeting times are not held during the exam week.
  • In every class taught, all faculty shall give a final examination, i.e., some form of comprehensive evaluative academic exercise appropriate to the course content and according to the published schedule of examinations, during the last week of the semester (which shall be set aside for final examinations), or at or near the scheduled conclusion of the session. The final evaluative exercise may be distributed before the time scheduled for the final exam providing that it is due and collected on the day during the final week of the semester on which the final exam has been scheduled. Exceptions to the requirement of scheduling a final examination (or other appropriate evaluative activity) may be granted, in writing, at the discretion of the appropriate chair and dean, upon request from the faculty member (AAUP Contract 38.§3).
  • All final exams are held in the normal classroom unless other arrangements have been made with the Registrar’s Office. Use of classrooms for review sessions must be scheduled through the Registrar’s Office.
  • If a student is assigned four exams during the same day, University policy will allow the student to request one exam to be given at the make-up time. Students should receive early notification from their instructors as to the times and places of their exams.

In the event the University should close during Monday through Thursday of final exam week, the exams scheduled on the day of closure would automatically move to Friday.

Student concern form

As we approach the end of the semester, student stress and anxiety tend to increase. Faculty or staff concerned about a student can report this using the Student Concern Form. The information recorded on the form is confidential and goes directly to the Dean of Students Office who will review the concern and will follow up with the student. There is a link to the student concern form on the Faculty menu in GoWMU.

Fact of the week

So far this semester, over 200 instructors submitted a Student Academic Concern Form.  More than 650 students were reported. 75 students were reported in more than one class.
