25Live demonstrations

Faculty and staff are invited to attend one of the 25Live demonstrations that are scheduled across campus.  25Live, the new room scheduling software, is a web-based product allowing greater transparency regarding classroom utilization.

We will be showing how to:

  • choose from a variety of criteria to create searches for events, locations, or organizations.
  • save, edit, rename, and delete your own searches.
  • view activity for selected locations and organizations as well as viewing the details on the selected event (including academic classes).
  • run selected reports – such as room “grids” showing who has been assigned to a specific location during selected dates.

Spring 2018 graduation

December 1 is the deadline for students to apply for graduation if they are planning to complete their degree at the end of the spring 2017 semester.  Students can apply for graduation online through GoWMU.  Undergraduate students must be approved by their advisor in Banner before they will be able to access the online application.

Textbooks

According to the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), WMU is required to publish textbook information with our course offerings.  As of last week, less than 60% of spring 2018 courses have textbooks assigned.

Please ensure textbook information is submitted as soon as possible.  In addition to compliance, timely submission of textbook information is important as students have the ability to view and purchase course materials during the registration process.

Fact of the week

A total of 2,471 students withdrew from a fall semester course before the deadline last Monday.  This is down 164 students from fall 2016.  The three classes that were withdrawn the most include CHEM 1100, ECON 2010 and MATH 1160.
