  • All aqua classes are held at Gabel Pool in Lawson Ice Arena.
  • Please present your valid Bronco Card to the facility staff.

Deep aqua
Mondays, 12:05 to 12:55 p.m.
Wednesdays, 12:05 to 12:55 p.m.

Shallow aqua
Tuesdays, 12:05 to 12:55 p.m.
Thursdays, 12:05 to 12:55 p.m.

 

Class rates

Aqua classes are free of charge for Western Michigan University faculty, staff or students.

Benefits of aquatic exercise

Water exercise promotes excellent muscle balance and cardiovascular conditioning by using the resistant and buoyancy properties of the water. Aquatic exercise classes provide a fun, challenging and effective workout.

Class descriptions

Shallow aqua (50 minutes) 
This class provides cardiovascular conditioning, resistance training and flexibility. Aqua training is an excellent low-impact workout and a great way to cross-train. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels and no swimming experience is required.

Deep aqua (50 minutes) 
Think you can’t sweat in 80 degree water? Bring it on! This challenging, yet fun aqua deep workout will take you to a new fitness level. Engage yourself in the ultimate water workout.
