WMU Symphonic Band to perform in free concert

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The Western Michigan University Symphonic Band will perform in a variety-packed concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in Western Michigan University’s Miller Auditorium.

The free, public program will feature wind ensemble classics like Grainger's "Lincolnshire Posy," von Suppe's "Light Cavalry Overture" and Alford's "Army of the Nile" march. It will also feature new works for band, including Viet Cuong's provocative "Sound and Smoke" and Ryan George's jazz-infused "Riff Raff."
